Optical measurement technologies project started
Finnish Funding Agency for Innovation, Tekes is funding so far the biggest joint project on optical measurement in Finland. The research parties are Valmet Automation, VTT and Tampere University of Technology with several small and medium size companies. The Terävä project parties are motivated by the potential new business areas especially around quality controlling for web-like products as well as within medical, food, packaging and electronics industries.

Summary of Valmet's sustainability progress in 2015
In 2015, Valmet progressed systematically with its sustainability agenda. We continued our strong focus on ensuring responsible supply chain practices, improved operational safety and realized a significant increase in employee engagement. As a token of our strong overall sustainability work, Valmet was selected to the Dow Jones World Sustainability Index as being among the 317 most sustainable companies in world for the second year in a row.
Enforcing new sustainability requirements
In 2015, Valmet communicated its Sustainable Supply Chain policy and the requirements set therein to all its active, around 9,000 suppliers globally.
Raw material savings with refining rebuild - JSC Arkhangelsk PPM
JSC Arkhangelsk PPM, the biggest containerboard manufacturer in Russia, has recently invested significantly as they strive to increase capacity, product quality, cost efficiency and sustainability. OptiFiner Pro refiners helped the Novodvinsk mill to meet its targets with an upgraded stock preparation system.
Towards improved environmental efficiency
