Positive experiences of working life are significant for young people

Promoting employment among young people is important for society and an investment in the future. The path to working life is not always easy for young people. Offering opportunities to learn working life skills and gain experience is one way to help, and Valmet decided to provide such opportunities.

Over recent years we have witnessed several events which only a decade ago would have been unthinkable. We all remember the photos of the small digger trying to free the massive cargo ship from the banks of Suez Canal, and we can still feel the effects of the viral pandemic. Moreover, the ever more frequent extreme weather patterns, such as floods and hurricanes, impose an additional uncertainty. There is clearly much more unpredictability around us. Just as the physical environment changes, so does the figurative environment we do business in; and these changes have certainly highlighted the fragility of the global supply chains.

During April, we at Neles have been active in the global struggle against climate change. We have undertaken many environmental actions with the initiation of our special environmental month, from Earth Hour on March 27, continuing through April. Our actions have focused on saving energy, increasing recycling, and tapping into the circular economy.

Managing valve wear in FCC slurry oil service
