Valmet provided Industrial Internet solutions for CMPC Guaíba mill (RS), which held a Scheduled General Shutdown for 10 days in the midst of the pandemic. Pulp Dryer Machines at Klabin Puma Unit breaks production records in September
In September 2019, Klabin Puma Unit’s Pulp Dryer Machine 26 reached the production record of 1,408 ADt/d, its nominal capacity being 1,300 ADt/d. The machine was provided by Valmet and produces softwood and fluff pulp. In the same month Pulp Dryer Machine 25, which produces eucalyptus wood pulp, reached the production record of 3,710 ADt/d.
Production world record at Södra Cell Värö
During a test run on February 11, 2020 a production world record was reached on the pulp drying line, with a total running rate of 2750 air dried tonnes per day, corresponding to 458 air dried tonnes per day/meter, which is the highest specific capacity reached for a Softwood machine.
Shutting down safely at Blue Paper
In November 2020, Blue Paper launched the “Vulcan” project by modernizing its paper machine dryer section to increase its capacity and performed various maintenance tasks. During the six-week shutdown, the safety of everyone was secured despite the ongoing pandemic.

Arauco is building a complete pulp mill in Inocência, in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil and has selected Valmet as the main supplier for the project.
