In November 2023, Valmet completed the acquisition of Körber Business Area Tissue, a global supplier of tissue converting and packaging lines, renowned for brands such as Perini, MTC and Casmatic. The former Fabio Perini and Körber Business Area Tissue has been in the converting industry for more than 50 years and has become the market leader in providing complete solutions for roll, fold, converting and packaging lines.

Valmet now offers the market’s most extensive portfolio for the entire tissue value chain, combining cutting-edge technologies, services and a dynamic, technology-driven approach to tissue converting, packaging and folding equipment. This means Valmet’s technologies now cover the whole tissue-making process, from stock preparation to tissue machines, rewinders, converting and packaging lines, including automation systems, digital solutions, remote assistance, training programs and various field services. Furthermore, Valmet’s Pivot Solutions, comprising state-of-the-art pilot lines, allow product features to be tested and perform smart analysis that gathers real machine and process data.

Roll

The offering is a complete range of automatic lines that aims to satisfy different production volume demands, both for new plants and retrofits of existing ones. Each line refers to equipment used for handling and processing tissue paper, from the big jumbo roll coming from the paper machine to finished rolls of different types: toilet rolls, kitchen towels and industrial (away from home) rolls.

Fold

Valmet’s fold solutions are engineered to address the several challenges faced by manufacturers, offering benefits that drive efficiency, enhance quality and maximize uptime. The offering is a complete range of automatic inter-folder and multi-folder lines. Each line refers to equipment for the handling and processing of tissue, from jumbo rolls from the paper machine to finished products such as hand towels, facial tissue products, folded toilet paper and napkins with a variety of fold types like V-Fold, W-Fold, Z-Fold, C-Fold and Quarter Fold.

Packaging

Valmet’s complete range of primary and secondary packaging solutions is designed to meet the customer’s demands with requests, that may vary from country to country concerning roll configuration, pack dimensions, the polyethylene quality to be used, the handle position and so on. Valmet’s solutions support the shift to a more sustainable future, introducing new packaging solutions like paper and biodegradable packaging.

Embossing

Valmet is the only manufacturer of paper processing machines that can offer all the engraving technologies, promoting product differentiation and optimizing paper properties in terms of absorbency, strength, volume and even softness. In addition, Valmet offers a complete service that extends from the study of embossing design, with a high degree of customization and the production of prototypes for evaluation and simulation purposes in real operating conditions. An extensive range of pilot lines has enabled Valmet to both produce and test prototypes in real operating conditions at high speed with different winding technologies.
