Valmet's ash crystallization technology has been engineered for maximum performance, with rates of recovery and removal very close to the theoretical maximum limits. To give the mill the lowest possible operating cost, Valmet's crystallizers can be energy integrated with the mill's processes.
The crystallizer at the APP OKI mill went into operation in 2017. The startup was smooth and according to plan. The design capacity of that plant was 920 tons of ash per day.
The most recent crystallizer from Valmet will be the one in Metsä Fibre's new mill in Kemi, Finland.
