Pretreatment is one of the most critical and challenging process step. In the pretreatment step the biomass is broken down to fractions. Making cellulose and hemicellulose available for further downstream processing. Valmet offer our pretreatment system under the name BioTrac
Valmet pretreatment BioTrac is designed to perfectly fit the need of each specific process and raw material. As a result, the design varies depending on parameters such as:
- Feedstock type e.g. wood or agricultural residues
- Use of catalyst or not
- Operating parameters
Our systems are available from pilot scale systems at around 50 dry kg/h up to capacities > 50 000 dry kg/h.
Our BioTrac technology has it’s foundation in our long experience/>100 years of experience in design of biomass processing systems for production of pulp and fibreboard. To this we can add the experience of more than 25 BioTrac system contracted and/or delivered in recent years.
