Valmet to deliver steam turbine automation to Energie AG in Austria

Valmet will deliver a steam turbine control system to Energie AG’s waste recycling plant in Wels, Austria. The company is migrating the current turbine controls to Valmet DNA automation system in order to have a fully integrated control system for the whole plant. This will also bring better visibility for the whole process, easier and more efficient operations and troubleshooting.

The order is included in Valmet’s orders received of the first quarter 2024. The value or the order is not disclosed. The delivery will take place in April 2024 and the planned turbine start-up is scheduled for June 2024.

Technical information about the delivery

Valmet’s delivery for the 23.5 MW steam turbine includes redundant Valmet DNA turbine control with new turbine protection system and new overspeed protection system. The Valmet DNA Steam Turbine Automation system offers convenience together with the thoroughness of a fully integrated system. It is suitable to control steam turbines of any brand with any power output.
