Metso Paper to supply a state-of-the-art tissue machine to Nuqul Group, Jordan

Metso Paper will supply a complete, state-of-the-art tissue machine to the Nuqul Group in Jordan. The value of the Metso order is not disclosed. The total project investment made by Nuqul Group is in the order of EUR 80 million. The machine is scheduled to start production during the first quarter of 2005.

With a width of 5.5 m, an operating speed of 2000 m/min, and an annual production of 54,000 tons of high-quality facial, toilet and towel grades, the new machine will be one of the most modern in the world, and the largest in the region. The raw material for the new machine will be virgin pulp.

Metso's scope of delivery will comprise a complete tissue machine with auxiliary equipment, and air and ventilation equipment, including the newly designed Advantage AirCap. The machine will also be equipped with a multilayering SymFlo TIS headbox, as well as a SymBelt™TIS long nip press, and Advantage Run sheet transfer and stabilizing technology.

The order will be supplied by Metso Paper Karlstad AB, Sweden. Also in Karlstad, Jaakko Pöyry AB has been awarded the contract for the complete engineering of the new mill.

The Al Bardi Paper Mill already has one tissue machine supplied by Metso Paper in 1991.
