Metso settles IP Dispute in Australia

Metso Corporation's Company release on May 14, 2010 at 1:15 p.m. local time

Australian Federal Court has entered an order related to the protection of
Metso's certain intellectual property rights. According to the court order Metso
has received from respondents' compensation in the amount of approximately EUR
14 million (AUD 20 million). The sum will be booked to Mining and Construction
Technology's Q2/2010 result. Metso will continue to be active in protecting its
intellectual property rights globally also in the future, acting with the
objective to enhance fair competition.
