OL Papeis increases its competitiveness in the tissue market by acquiring a complete Körber packaging line

The Casmatic Twopack, is an optimized, customized and flexible Körber solution with great cost-benefit, matching perfectly with OL Papéis’ needs.

OL Papeis was looking for a tissue packaging solution that could combine cost, compact layout, flexibility and high performance, and ultimately, chose Casmatic Twopack, an innovation for paper wrapping and bundling developed by Körber that combines two machines into one.

Tissue converters must constantly search for ways to remain competitive in a fast-growing industry. In the process,  they sometimes have problems finding the right balance between cost, flexibility, layout optimization, and quality to keep their operation profitable and competitive.

The Latin American paper industry in particular was looking for a solution that could combine cost, compact layout, flexibility and high performance, balancing these key factors to optimize its production. This was also exactly the need of OL Papéis, and is why they chose the Casmatic Twopack.

The Casmatic Twopack, is an optimized, customized and flexible Körber solution with great cost-benefit, matching perfectly with OL Papéis’ needs. "The cost-benefit ratio of this wrapper grabbed our attention, since the toilet paper packs are carrying more and more rolls, the number of cycles of this machine fits perfectly with our market," commented Omar Abbas, director of OL Papéis.

The solution provides several benefits compared to standard separated machines (non-integrated wrapper and bundler):

  • Up to 20% of price reduction/optimization
  • Up to 10% of energy and air consumption savings
  • Up to 50% footprint reduction
  • More than 4 layout configurations
  • More than 15 customizable features
  • Multi-format being able to adaptable to 100 different product configurations

As it’s a compact and efficient machine, OL Papéis was able to place the entire line in a smaller space with reduced labor costs. "Even though it is a compact and cost-effective machine, it is not a limited machine. The Twopack carries high technology and a lot of flexibility, fast setups and many possible pack formats," says the executive.

By acquiring the Casmatic Twopack lines, OL Papéis has achieved important competitive advantages, such as higher process efficiencies, cost and space savings, keeping productivity high and operational flexibility and versatility.
