Description: This course describes the purpose, design and function of each section in the pulp drying machine. The sections that are presented are the headbox, the wire section, the press section and the dryer. The participant will learn how the headbox dilutes and spreads the pulp over the former, how the pulp is dewatered in the wire section and press section and finally how the pulp is dried in the dryer. In addition the participant will also learn about the main components in each section.

Objective: After this course the participant should know the purpose of each section of the pulp drying machine and also have an understanding of their function and design.

Audience: Personnel working with the pulp dryer.

Pre-requisites: Basic knowledge in pulp- and papermaking is recommended.
