Ground breaking celebration at Amadeus project site

Valmet and its partner Fortes are breaking the ground at LD Celulose’s project in Brazil. The team has in May 2020 celebrated the “first pile in the ground” that will be part of the foundation of the drying machine building.
The project, which is expected to be completed in the first half of 2022, when completed, will generate around 1,100 direct jobs.
Valmet delivers key technology for the project to build a new 500 000 t/a dissolving pulp mill in Brazil. Valmet’s delivery includes a fiber line, a pulp drying and baling line, an evaporation plant, a white liquor plant and a mill-wide automation system.
The team will need to overcome several challenges, the COVID-19 pandemic being the first one. The project is proceeding with increased safety measures.
