We offer summer job opportunities in Finland for students from different fields. As a summer trainee, you have an excellent opportunity to learn and develop your skills in a global technology company. This is your opportunity to be involved in advancing a sustainable future, as we know that our technology plays a crucial role in mitigating climate change and global warming.

We offer summer trainees a work environment where safety, responsibility and continuous learning are at the core. As a summer trainee, you will be able to support the daily work of our experts and increase your skills in an international network of professionals from different fields, countries and cultures. You will receive comprehensive onboarding and the support of our team throughout the summer, and your contribution will be genuinely appreciated.

During the summer, we offer jobs for hundreds of students across Finland in a variety of roles. Summer jobs are available in production at our factories, as well as in engineering, project management and R&D at our offices. We also offer a wide range of opportunities in procurement, sales, logistics, finance, marketing, IT and HR. 

  1. If you are applying for a summer job with us for the first time, you must first create an applicant profile. Once your Valmet account has been created, you can apply for a position that interests you through the profile. Please note that we only accept applications through our recruitment system, not through email.

  3. Apply for a summer job that best suits your study background and skills. Remember to include your CV with your application and fill in all the fields of the application carefully.
  4. After submitting your application, you will receive a confirmation from the system that your application has been received.

CV and cover letter

Attach your CV to the application and, if you wish, also a cover letter. Highlight your experience and strengths by using concrete examples. Include previous internships and summer jobs, courses, skills and personal qualities in your CV and cover letter. It is important to tailor the cover letter specifically to the summer job you are applying for and explain why you are interested in the position in question.

The recruiting managers go through the applications and invite the most suitable applicants to a video interview or a direct face-to-face interview. Interviews are conducted during January-March. Based on the interviews, summer trainees are selected for different positions.

We will inform each applicant of the result of the application process by 30.4.2027.

 

  1. You agree on the start date with your manager.
  2. You will receive an employment agreement through the recruitment system, where you can sign it electronically.
  3. Before your first day, you will receive an information package through the recruitment system to help you prepare for your summer job.
  4. When your employment begins, you will start onboarding with your manager and team.
  5. During the summer, you can participate in various activities for summer trainees and network with other trainees.
