Creating sustainable solutions for future challenges

Valmet's mission is to convert renewable resources into sustainable results. We focus on research and product development activities on sustainable technology solutions. We believe that technology plays a significant role in curbing and adapting climate change.

In line with the mission and ambition to provide sustainable solutions for the tissue making industry Valmet Tissue Technology Award has been established. The purpose is to promote university students’ and scientists’ work to develop environmental sound innovations for the tissue making process. The award can be obtained for further development of an innovative thesis or as a reward for remarkable results of work completed.

Great reward to best innovation

The Award has been granted every second year and the winner is presented in conjunction with the Tissue Making Days in Karlstad, Sweden. In addition to honor and attention from the tissue making industry world-wide, the latest total prize amount was USD 25.000.

Valmet Tissue Technology Award promotes sustainable innovations for the benefit of the tissue industri. 2018 year's winner, Mr Björn Sjöstrand Ph.D. student in chemical engineering at Karlstad University, Sweden, was announced by His Royal Highness Prince Carl-Philip at the Tissue Making Conference in Karlstad, Sweden, May 17.
