Nancy has over 20 years of experience in how technology was and is transforming society, working for different IT companies, amongst which five years for Microsoft in the Netherlands and Europe.

Jenny Lahti Samuelsson is Manager for Global Tissue Technology at Valmet. She holds a University MSc degree in Mechanical engineering from Karlstad University and has held several different roles in Valmet since starting in 1995 as R&D Engineer.

She held the position as Production Manager for the tissue production unit in Karlstad during 2010 and 2015 started the implementation of Lean production. After this she took over Tissue Site Operations which included installation, start-up and reference management.

Jenny just took over the responsibility for Valmet’s tissue making technology including tissue machine concepts, mill technology and process automation. The main task is to lead and coordinate the strategic work for technology development within the global organization to secure Valmet Best Available Technology.

Oswaldo Cruz Jr

Oswaldo has a Degree in Mechanical Engineering and he started his professional career in 1989 with Voith, as Sales Manager for tissue products following Latin America, North America and Oceania. 

In 1994, he joined Fabio Perini Brazil as Senior Sales Engineer and then in 2001, he got the role of Sales Director with the responsibility of Sales for the Customer Service as well. In 2007, he became President of Fabio Perini Brazil with the market responsibility of all Latin America. 

In January 2018, he is appointed Chief Executive Officer of Fabio Perini S.p.A. and will guide the group companies in the implementation of digital transformation.

William A Nelson

William Nelson oversees operations at Elettric80’s North American headquarter located in Chicago, IL and its Monterrey Mexico Customer Service Center. 

He began his career in the tissue industry 1989. Quite soon he became VP and manager of NA operations for an Italian packaging machine supplier. He moved on to become Managing Director of Sales and Customer Service for the same company, living in Italy from 2002 until beginning his time at Elettric80 year 2005.

Since its founding in 2004, E80 has grown to generate annual revenues of more than $100,000,000 in North America and has become major force in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) market, in particular in the tissue, food and beverage market segments.

Hans Ivarsson

Hans Ivarsson is a R&D project manager at Valmet and joined the company 1997, after a career in the automobile industry. 

He started at Valmet in the Structural Analysis Team but has spent most of the time at the Tissue Technology Center in Karlstad. The main R&D focus for Hans has been within structured tissue, both with TAD technology but mainly with new concepts with the intention to develop structured tissue processes at lower energy consumption. 

Hans has a MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology.

Manrico has been active in the tissue industry for 34 years, predominantly involved in Sales and Marketing, and has worked exclusively for Fabio Perini S.p.A.

His experience stretches from the promotion and sales of Perini machinery in developing markets to responsibilities with major multinational tissue corporations.

He is presently Sales Director for Perini´s line of converting equipment, heading an office of International Sales Experts to promote Perini solutions around the world.

Luca Frasnetti

Luca has a Master’s Degree in Electronic Engineering and he started his professional career in 1992 in Whirlpool Corporation, initially in the Research & Development Department. In his prior work experience in the Candy Group, started in 2006, he covered different leading roles in R&D and finally the role of Chief Technology Officer at the Washing Division.

In Fabio Perini S.p.A. since 2014 with the role of Chief Technology Officer, he has developed various technological innovations for converting and packaging. From 2017, he is also the Chief Operational Officer managing the global production plants with the aim of transforming them in an integrated Smart Factory and to also implement the digital transformation of the portfolio products and services.

Johan Rågård

Johan Rågård graduated Chalmers University 1998 as a mechanical degree and started to work within Valmet directly after university.

His Valmet career started in the design department. In year 2000 he moved to the R&D center and was in the beginning mainly working in the dry end with the belted reel development.

Later, Johan started to work with development of hybrid machines and have been involved in the NTT project from the beginning, and manager of Textured Tissue concept since 2010.

Currently 7 NTT machines are running and soon will 11 machines be running producing NTT paper.

Eduardo Izquierdo

Eduardo obtained his BSc and MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Catholic University in Chile in 1998 and 2002 respectively.

In 2007 obtained the PhD in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Michigan Ann Arbor. 

He started his working carrier as an Assistant professor at The University of Warwick in England between 2007-2010 in the manufacturing area, focused on quality improvement and operation efficiency in hospitals.

He returned to Chile in 2010 to establish the R&D group at SIRVE, a company dedicated to the development of seismic protection systems where he led the development of new systems with government and private sector funds.

In 2012 he joined FPC as R&D Director and since then he has been leading the development of new products for liner and fluting business as well as the operational improvements. He also leads the technical group of FPC Tissue focused on the manufacture of premium paper in the NTT machine.

Emanuele Bianchi

Emanuele Bianchi is currently leading the Amazon Private Brands unit for FMCG categories (grocery, health, personal care, beauty, baby, pets) across EU (Germany, UK, France, Italy and Spain), based in Luxembourg.

He has been with Amazon for 3 years, where he started as Head of Vendor Management for the newly launched Business, Industrial and Scientific Supplies webstore. Prior to Amazon, Emanuele was a Junior Partner with McKinsey – in his 7 years at the Firm, Emanuele focused on Strategy, Marketing and Sales, serving clients in the Telecommunications, Media, Retail and Consumer Goods industries across the globe, both in mature and emerging markets. Even earlier, he was with Bain & Co. and Telekom Austria.

Emanuele holds a BSc and MSc in Electronics Engineering. Italian as an origin, he is fluent in Italian, English, German, Spanish and French. 

Arvid Johansson

Arvid Johansson has held several different technical roles in Valmet. In 2010 he moved to China and worked with Tissue engineering in Valmet´s Xián office.

In 2012 Arvid joined the R&D department at Valmet and has been deeply involved in the development of AdvantageTM ReTurneTM and AdvantageTM NTTTM. Since 2015 he is Concept Manager for Dry Crepe Tissue at Valmet.

Arvid holds a University degree in Mechanical engineering from Karlstad University.

Jan Erikson

Jan Erikson is VP Sales for Tissue Mills Business Units in Valmet.

Jan has a MSc degree from Chalmers University of Technology and lately finished KTH Executive School in Industrial Management.

Jan started at Valmet at the R&D center and continued working in the US for Valmet as sales and product manager. He later worked some years in service for startups and trouble shooting and was later responsible for project management in Valmet Tissue. He returned to sales in 2003 as responsible for the global sales.

Daniel Signori

With more than 25 years of experience in tissue business, Daniel Signori has achieved a very deep know-how in the production of tissue paper.

He holds a bachelor's degree in Business and Marketing Management from the FAE Business School and graduated from the Federal University of Paraná in Chemical Engineering. Currently he is the Technical Director at Mili SA, the largest producer of tissue paper in Brazil.

Kent Nika

"Dialogue with data to improve performance"

Kent started his career in 1987 at Stora Enso Gruvön, a pulp and paper mill close to Karlstad. At Stora Enso he had various positions with in Operations and Project organization. 

2007 he joined Valmet (former Metso) and has since then been representing Pulp, Power, Automation and now Paper business line. 

During a period he utilized his background as an Automation engineer and worked within the software business; focusing on simulation systems for Aerospace, Defense and Pulp and Paper business.

Kenneth Appel


"Field service in a digital world"

Since 2015, Kenneth Appel is Director for Global Tissue Service at Valmet. He has a background as Manager for Tissue Machine Controls and Automation and has 13 years of experience within Valmet.

Kenneth has been deeply involved in the work to transfer Tissue Technology knowledge to China and has also served as a member of the Core Team of the Valmet Automation integration project.

In his latest position Kenneth will focus on heading Valmet’s Tissue Service. The main task is to lead and coordinate the strategic work for Valmet Tissue Service development within the Paper and Finishing Technology Unit (MPN TU) in Mill Improvements Business Unit.
