White liquor plant

The white liquor plant covers recausticizing and lime kilns and completes the chemical recovery cycle by converting green liquor to white liquor. In this process, most of the Na2CO3 in the green liquor is turned back into NaOH in white liquor, which can then be used for cooking liquor. The aim of the process is to produce as much strong white liquor as possible and as efficiently as possible.

Green liquor handling

Valmet offers products that separate dregs from green liquor and increase the efficiency of the recausticizing process. The dregs handling encompasses systems that wash and dewater dregs efficiently with minimal or no mud consumption.

Cooling, slaking and causticizing

Optimum recausticizing is performed by products that provide an efficient and controlled reaction between green liquor and lime.

White liquor handling

White liquor from the plant should be of a consistent quality and have the optimal strength suitable for the plant. Modern digesters need a high and consistent quality of white liquor to produce the optimal pulp quality and yield.

Valmet’s lime-mud dewatering system ensures good washing of the lime mud and high dry-solids content.
