Bioplastics are today driving the evolution of plastics and provide unique potential toward reaching carbon neutrality. Bio-PET (Poly Ethylene Terephthalate) and other bioplastics are already being used by large consumer products companies that are clearly aware of the environmental pressure on fossil-based plastics. Furthermore, biodegradability is an add-on property of certain types of bioplastics, thus offering additional means of recovery at the end of a product’s life.
Valmet Pretreatment BioTrac system gives you a flexible basis for production of biochemicals when it is applied as a first step in isolating valuable bio-based starting materials. Sugars released by BioTrac, for example, can be refined into glycols, the building-blocks in bioplastics.
