Valmet will introduce in its service operations a new generation PowerMaint upkeep management system supplied by TietoEnator Oyj. The system will facilitate data transfer and diagnostic methods related to preventive maintenance and fault analysis and enable electronic spare parts and consumables business. The system will be an integral part of the remote diagnostics concept launched by Valmet in October.

The PowerMaint system will be in joint use between Valmet's service operations and the customer’s mill, and will allow better planning and management of upkeeping and service operations, thus raising production efficiency. The system, which consists of several modules, includes highly developed tools for reporting and analyzing condition and operational reliability data. The system also includes an advanced monitoring and purchasing application for the spare parts and consumables inventory, which will enable rapid identification and ordering of spare parts. In the future, the system can be delivered to the customer with new machine deliveries, complete with basic data related to the production line’s maintenance and service needs.

The introduction of the PowerMaint system is the start of long-term co-operation planned between Valmet Service and TietoEnator Oyj, aimed at developing production support services for the pulp and paper industry.
