Metso Paper will deliver a large rebuild of paper machine PM1 to Stora Enso's Suzhou mill in China. The paper making line, originally built by Metso Paper in 1996, manufactures coated art papers. The rebuilt production line will start up in mid 2005.

The target of the rebuild is to increase the capacity of the production line and to improve the paper quality.

The project comprises modernization of the headbox and the wire and press sections to comply with today's paper making technology and efficiency requirements. The press section will be equipped with a shoe press. Metso Automation will supply a large automation package.

The Stora Enso Suzhou mill is located in Jiangsu Province some 100 km west of Shanghai.
