Sharing insights and case stories in the conference

The event included a conference focusing on current topics in the power generation sector including different form of renewable energy and digitalization. All together the conference included over 50 sessions and almost 200 different presentations. A best paper was selected from each of the seven conference tracks to acknowledge the best of the best in the industry.

The Best Paper Award in the Renewable Energy track was awarded to the paper "HOFOR Goes Towards CO2 Neutrality by Utilizing CFB's Capabilities". The presentation was given by Lars Fenger, Project Manager at HOFOR. Co-writers of the paper were Ari Kokko, Director Technology and R&D, Energy at Valmet; Jonas Wallen, Sales Manager at Valmet; and Carsten Schneider, Project Director at HOFOR. The paper describes how the new BIO4 unit at HOFOR's Amagerværket heat and power plant in Copenhagen will produce heat and electricity from biomass. The plant has a nominal capacity on 500 MW and produces 150 MW of electricity and 400 MJ/s heat. Valmet delivers biomass-fired boiler plant and related biofuel storage and conveyor systems to the plant.
