Valmet DNA Heat Exchanger Performance Monitoring

The Valmet DNA Heat Exchanger Performance Monitoring calculates, stores and displays the main performance parameters that indicate condition and operation efficiency of heat exchangers, such as condenser, district heat exchangers, HP- and LP -preheaters.
Benefits
- The application provides the power plant maintenance and operating personnel with a tool that helps to detect potential problems in heat exchangers operation and analyze the problems that have occurred. This contributes towards proactively responding to failures before they cause unpredicted shutdowns.
- The extensive storage of history data also enables long- term monitoring of gradual component deterioration and mechanical failures and thus improve scheduling of maintenance.
- The application is linked seamlessly to the overall automation applications, which guarantees efficient collaboration between plant management and plant control.
Features
The application includes calculation of the main performance parameters of the following heat exchangers:
- Steam condenser
- HP – and LP-preheaters
- District heat exchangers
The calculated performance parameters include:
- Effect [MW]
- Heat transfer coefficient (for condenser) [W/°C]
- Temperature efficiency (for heat exchangers) [ - ]
- Terminal temperature difference [oC] or alternatively
- Log mean temperature difference [oC]
