Valmet Brown Stock Quality Analyzer
The new Valmet Brown Stock Quality Analyzer (Valmet Kappa Q1), has been developed to provide increased analysis frequency for digester control in high yield kraft pulping.
Genuine kappa numbers – Fast, accurate and cost effective
Using the similar patent pending sweep analysis as Valmet’s market leading multi-point kappa analyzer, the advanced LED (light-emitting diode) technology ensures exceptional analysis accuracy. The analyzer utilizes well proven sampling technology to extract a pulp sample and transport it to the nearby compact analysis unit where disturbing liquors are thoroughly washed away and pulp Kappa number analyzed. A cost effective solution for dedicated one stage applications, the increased measurement frequency considerably increases the amount of process data for tighter process controls and optimization.
- High yield cooking applications
- Kappa range 9 - 120
- Refined pulps
- Digester blow line
- Pre and post oxygen delignification
- Pre D0 applications
Easy installation and fast commissioning
The new and innovative pulp sample handling principle minimizes water consumption, ensures effective operation even with high shive content pulps and with very few moving and wearing parts reduces maintenance needs to a minimum. Pre-calibration with customer pulp samples makes analyzer commissioning exceptionally fast, easy and safe. Using the same rugged sampling devices as Valmet’s multipoint analyzer, installation of the sampler and sample line can be made during a short shutdown with the analyzer located conveniently close by. This simplifies installation work without the special strengthening required for pipe mounted analyzers, and enhances reliability with the analyzer located in a vibration free environment. Versatile remote connections including Industrial Internet enable efficient system follow-up and support, both locally and from Valmet expert offsite.
- Simple installation
- Factory pre-calibrated
- Industrial Internet
Faster measurement data
The higher analysis frequency of Valmet Kappa Q1 provides a remarkable opportunity for chemical savings and improved yield by minimizing controlled Kappa variations to allow an increase in the average Kappa target and preserve pulp quality. With an existing larger Valmet Kappa analyzer, Valmet Kappa Q1 can use an existing process sampler and sample line. This can enable faster measurement sequencing of the remaining multiple samplers to bring the additional benefits of tighter control to other stages. Self-adjusting pulp sampling and sample transportation together with optimized sample washing ensures the high availability of results and guarantees repeatability in all situations.
- Accurate Kappa analysis and trending
- Visualized process variable trending
- Intelligent sampling
- Compatible with existing Kappa Analyzer
Safe and easy to use
The well-thought out analyzer design keeps operators away from harsh process environments ensuring that actions like laboratory sampling are done in a convenient and safe location with the automated built-in laboratory collector. Only the process sampling device is connected to the pressurized process. The analyzer requires minimal maintenance and features chemical based self cleaning for trouble free operation. With a built in touch screen display, all analyzer operating parameters, operating sequences and diagnostics together with operating instructions are all instantly available.
- Integrated laboratory sample collector
- Manual sample input possibility
- Safely isolated from the process
