Valmet DNA Engineering I

This Level I course provides detailed Valmet DNA configuration knowledge. An overview of the system architecture will be presented along with a detailed study of system configuration engineering software and it's relationship to system hardware. Use of appropriate CAD (control loops) and XML (graphics) based configuration tools will be learned. Participants will go through hands-on exercises in configuring typical control loops and graphic display. These will be tested on a running DCS and process demo in the classroom.

Valmet DNA Engineering II

This Level II course provides detailed Valmet DNA configuration knowledge. This course is a direct extension of the knowledge gained from the Valmet DNA Engineering I course. Configuration engineering will consist of a CAD based tool and an XML graphics editor and participants will go through hands-on exercises in configuring advanced control loops. Topics include using tables, analog history, template creation and use, trends, and profiles.

Valmet DNA Maintenance

This course provides a detailed understanding of functions, structures, and system layout of Valmet DNA hardware. Network fundamentals are covered in the course do to the use of TCP/IP and ethernet in the automation system network. Faults, disturbances and failure recognition is learned as well as Valmet DNA diagnostic information and tools.

Valmet DNA INFO

This course provides a fundamental understanding of the Valmet DNA INFO System. Learners gain an understanding of the features and capabilities of the INFO System and how it works within the Valmet DNA environment. Students learn the data archiving components from an operations, maintenance and engineering point-of-view.

Valmet DNA Overview

This course provides a broad overview of the Valmet DNA System. Topics include: hardware, architecture, configuration engineering environment and servers, as well as how to use the operator interface to control a process. This class is also useful for management personnel who need a better understanding of system capabilities and requirements.

Valmet DNA Basic Networking

This course provides a fundamental understanding of the basic concepts used in computer networking today. The class is specifically aimed at the Valmet DNA Automation System networks which employ many of the standard network protocols and topologies used enterprise wide today.

Valmet DNA Operate Editor

This course provides a fundamental understanding of the Valmet DNA graphics configuration engineering tool Operate Editor. This course may be taken as part of a comprehensive learning path for Valmet DNA configuration engineering.

Valmet DNA Operate

This course explains the basic structure of the Valmet DNA Operate Interface System from the operator’s point of view.

Valmet DNA Diagnostics

This course provides a detailed understanding of the tools used to diagnose problems in the Valmet DNA system. Detailed lecture and hands-on experience give an insight into troubleshooting, fault rectification, measuring and maintenance.

Valmet DNA EAS Tools

This course will provide the learner with a fundamental understanding of the creation and use of Design Members as well as the necessary formulas and their syntax to create templates and make easy modifications to multiple control parameters.

Valmet DNA System FbCAD

This course introduces the end user to the Valmet DNA configuration engineering tool FbCAD. This course can be taken separately or as part of a comprehensive learning path which will empower the learner to a fundamental understanding of the Valmet DNA configuration engineering environment.

Valmet DNA PIQ Operator

This course explains the basic operations of the Valmet DNA operator interface as they apply to generic and quality controls.

Valmet DNA Automation Language

This course will provide the learner with a fundamental understanding of the functions of the automation system from loop creation to file download and disbursement. This course can be taken separately or as part of a comprehensive learning path which will empower the learner to a fundamental understanding of the Valmet DNA configuration engineering environment.

Low Level Loop (PID) Tuning Course

This course will provide the learner with a fundamental understanding of the functions of the automation system from loop creation to file download and disbursement. This course can be taken separately or as part of a comprehensive learning path which will empower the learner to a fundamental understanding of the Valmet DNA configuration engineering environment.

Low Level Loop (PID) Tuning Course On-site

This course provides the learner with the necessary tools to tune first order process control low level PID loops using the lamda tuning technique. The PID control used in the Valmet DNA process automation system will be used as the model controller.
