How do I find out what open positions there are at Valmet?

We publish all our open positions here.

How long do you advertise roles for?

We typically advertise positions for between two and four weeks, but it can be shorter or longer depending on the role. All positions have an application closing date and we recommend that you complete your application as soon as possible in advance of this date.

How do I search for positions in my preferred country?

You can use the “country” filter in the “Open roles”  section to show open jobs for a specific country.

Can I apply for more than one role?

Yes. Feel free to apply for any positions that you think match your skills and experiences.

Is there an address I can send my CV to?

Unfortunately, the high number of applications we receive means we cannot accept CVs via e-mail or guarantee that they will be considered. Please submit your application to an open position or, if you prefer, make an “open” application which will allow our recruiters to find and match your details as other positions are opened.

How do I log into Valmet’s recruitment system?

You can create an account with a user name and password when you apply. When you return, just log in using these details.

What happens if I have forgotten my password?

There is a link called “Forgot password”. Clicking on it will send a new password to the e-mail address you specified when creating your account.

Once I have made my application can I make changes to it?

Yes, you are able to edit your details, but please make sure all details are uploaded before the application closing date.

Do you store my details on file if I have been unsuccessful?

This is up to you to decide. When you apply you can specify how long, if at all, you want our recruiters to be able to access your details to potentially match you against other roles.

How long after I apply will I receive a response?

When you submit your application you will receive an acknowledgment e-mail showing that your application has been saved successfully to our system.
Although we review all applications carefully, we’re sorry to say it’s not always possible for us to reply directly to all candidates due to the high number of applications we receive.

If your application has progressed, you will be contacted to discuss the next steps. This usually happens within three weeks of the application closing date.

I have a disability. How will you accommodate my needs during the hiring process?

What type of interview will I have?

We use a variety of selection methods depending on the role you apply for. For a “white collar” role you will typically have at least two interviews and be asked to complete an on-line personality or motivation questionnaire. Other tests may include technical tests, presentations and group exercises.

How do I prepare for an interview?

An interview is an opportunity for you to get to know Valmet better, but we also expect you to have done some research on us. Be ready to demonstrate the skills, experiences and competencies listed in the job advert.

Why do you use video interviews?

Not everything can be expressed on a CV or application. That is why we use RecRight as a tool to get to know you better. Don’t worry, we aren’t looking for film star performances.

Can I apply for a job in a country other than where I live?

Yes, we are a global company and welcome applicants from anywhere in the world. However, some local regulations may mean we have to first consider nationals/residents of the country where the role is based, before looking abroad for skilled workers.

If I need a work permit for a role I am interested in, do you arrange this?

If you are successful in your application for a role that requires an international move, we will be able to assist you.

How long before I can reapply if I was unsuccessful?

You are welcome to apply immediately for other positions that you think are suitable.
