Valmet receives fiber line orders from Europe

Valmet has this month received four orders for refiner lines for customers in Europe. The refiner lines will produce high-quality pulp for different paper and board grades. The start-ups are scheduled for late 2001.

All orders include machinery, services for erection and start-up.

The delivery to Rottneros Rockhammar AB comprises a CTMP refiner line for the Rottneros 2001 project. The new refiner line will produce CTMP market pulp and is part of Rottneros environmental investment program to reduce CO2-emission.

The delivery to SCA Graphic Ortviken AB consists of a Thermopulp® line to increase the capacity of the existing pulp mill. The order comprises equipment needed for the capacity increase.

The delivery to Stora Enso Kvarnsveden AB is a replacement for one existing refiner line to increase the capacity of the pulp mill. The order comprises a Thermopulp® line for the capacity increase.

The delivery to SCA Graphic Laakirchen GmbH comprises refiner systems for Laakirchen's PM 11 Convertible project. The refiner line, which will increase the production in the existing SGW mill, is part of Laakirchen's project to raise its production of SC paper.

Valmet's Mechanical Pulping Lines supply systems from fiber to paper processes – for different paper and board grades. The main processes include PGW, CTMP, Bleaching and Thermopulp®. The Valmet Thermopulp® system was introduced in order to decrease production and investment costs and is based on Valmet's proven refiner technology. This year, Valmet has received orders for six refiner lines, again proving the company's leading position in this technology.
