Valmet (Metso Paper) has received an order from St. Marys Paper Ltd., for OptiLoad rebuilds of three Valmet supercalenders at the company's mill in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. The OptiLoads will be installed between July and November, 2001.

Supercalenders #5, 6 and 7 handle the production of PM 5, an SC-A paper machine originally installed by Tampella. Following the OptiLoad rebuilds, St. Marys Paper will have advanced calender loading, roll weight relieving, profiling and high-temperature finishing capabilities for high-quality SC-A papers.

Metso Corporation was formed in 1999 with the merger of Valmet and Rauma Corporations. The resulting company, Metso, was divided into three major business areas. The largest area was "fiber and paper" and was renamed "Valmet" following the reorganization. Recently Metso has decided to rename all its business areas using the Metso name. As such, Valmet will become "Metso Paper", effective February 1, 2001.

Metso Paper (Valmet) is the world's leading supplier of systems and services for the pulp and paper industry including wood handling; pulping; stock prep; paper, board and tissuemaking; finishing; air systems; and automation.
