For the third year in a row SP Newsprint, Dublin, Georgia, has set the record as the world's most productive newsprint machine by producing 1121.1 kg/cm/day during 2004.

SP Newsprint was recognized for this accomplishment during the Metso Technology Seminar held in Montreal the second week of February.

Mr. Bertel Karlstedt, President and CEO of Metso Paper, and Mr. Jukka Tiitinen, area president for Metso Paper North America, presented the award to Jack Carter, Dublin Mill Manager, SP Newsprint.

Mr. Carter thanked the mill's employees, many of whom were in the audience, for making the record possible. He also thanked Metso for its help and support.

PM2, a Valmet machine originally installed in 1988, has been kept efficient through an ongoing program of rebuilds and improvements.
