The Metso Paper Laem Chabang service center has celebrated its 10 years of operation in Thailand on January 22, 2008. The workshop was opened on January 14, 1998 and it was the first full-scope service center for the pulp and paper industry serving all of Asia. Today, the Laem Chabang center serves Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam as well as Taiwan, India and Pakistan.

During the ten years of operation, the number of employees in Laem Chabang has grown from 50 to 120 committed professionals. Also the service center’s capabilities have been continuously developed over the years. The latest addition will be the facilities to manufacture polyurethane and composite roll covers in fall 2008. As a full-scope supplier, the Laem Chabang one-stop service center offers everything from spare parts, mechanical roll services and roll covers to process development services and maintenance outsourcing.
