Metso-supplied tissue line started up in India

The Metso-supplied Advantage DCT 100HS tissue line delivered to Century Pulp and Paper in Lalkua, Nainital, Uttarkhand, India, came on stream successfully on December 22, 2008. The smooth start-up of the 2.8-m-wide tissue machine took place as planned.

The new line will produce 120 metric tons daily of high-quality facial, bathroom tissue and towel grades and will thereby be the largest single tissue production line in India.

Metso’s scope of delivery comprised a complete tissue machine equipped with an OptiFlo headbox, 16-foot Metso Yankee cylinder and an Advantage AirCap Yankee hood. Metso also delivered the stock preparation equipment including OptiFiner conical refiner and deflaking technology, OptiSlush pulping equipment and OptiScreen cleaning and screening technology. The delivery included basic and detail engineering for the new tissue mill as well as services for installation and start-up of the machine.

Century Pulp and Paper, a division of Century Textile and Industries Ltd., is a manufacturer of rayon grade pulp and high-quality printing and writing papers.
