Metso-supplied board machine starts up successfully at Ji'An Paper in China

Zhejiang Ji’An Paper Packet Co., Ltd. has successfully started up a Metso-supplied containerboard machine PM 1 at its mill in Haiyan, in China's Zhejiang province, on March 5, 2008. The start-up speed was 627 m/min.

The new 400,000 t/a 3-ply kraftliner board machine features the latest Metso-technology for board making from wet end to reel. The delivery also included metsoDNA machine and process control systems and PaperIQ quality control system with CD profilers as well as web break camera system by Metso Automation.

The PM 1 board machine has a wire width of 7,250 mm and a design speed of 1,100 m/min. It produces kraftliner board grades in the basis weight range of 90 -200 g/m2, mainly for the surrounding Zhejiang-Shanghai-Jiangsu area in eastern China.

Zhejiang Ji’An Paper Packet Co., Ltd. is one of China's rapidly growing containerboard producers. The company’s previous PM 2, mainly supplied by Shanghai-Chenming Paper Machinery, today Metso Paper Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., was started up in 2006 and contains two Metso headboxes, size circulation and a calender. Metso Automation delivered PaperIQ quality control system with headbox CD profiler.
