Metso supplied board machine starts up at Changle Numat Paper Company in China

Metso supplied board machine delivered to Changle Numat Paper Company Ltd. started up smoothly on November 7, 2010 in Weifang city, Shandong Province of China.

The new PM 1 line will produce up to 500,000 tonnes of uncoated and coated white top testliner (WTTL) grades annually in the basis weight ranges of 94-200 g/m2 for uncoated grades and 120-220 g/m2 for coated grades.

The 7.25-m-wide PM 1 features the latest board making and automation technology by Metso, from headbox to winder. The design speed of the board machine is 1,150 m/min.

Ci XiaoLei, General Manager of Changle Numat Paper Company Ltd., has been satisfied with the co-operation with Metso during the project. “All the challenges have been solved together and the commissioning and start-up have gone smoothly”, summarizes Ci XiaoLei.

“With PM 1, high-quality coated white top liner can be produced with minimal amount of virgin fiber. A key element is the press section of a completely new design which is running very well”, states Kyösti Tokola, Project Manager of Paper business line, Metso.
