Metso Paper supplies complete tissue making line to the Tonic Emballage Group, Algeria

Metso Paper will supply a complete tissue making line, including de-inking equipment to SARL Ouate-Industries, part of the Tonic Emballage Group of Algeria. The company is a newly established tissue producer, the first one in the country. The value of the order is approximately EUR 36 million.

The tissue mill is estimated to start up in April 2005 and will produce 25,000 tons per year of facial tissue, napkins, toilet paper, towel and MG paper. The raw material will be recycled fiber.

The order will be managed by Metso Paper Karlstad, Sweden, and supplied by Metso Paper units in Karlstad; Gorizia, Italy; Valkeakoski, Finland and Metso Automation in Bordeaux, France.

The wide scope of this order consists of a 2,7 m-wide PERIFORMERĀ® Crescent tissue machine with a Sym FloTis-2 headbox and a new Advantageā„¢ Aircap yankee hood, deinking plant, roll handling system, rewinder, process machinery, piping, field instruments, electrification, Metso Automation system, mill engineering, parts of utility systems and general ventilation. Furthermore, supervision of installation and start-up, training and a Metso Learning package, as well as after start-up service are included.

The Tonic Emballage Group has substantial boxboard converting capacity placed in Bou-Ismail, 60 km west of Alger. The new tissue making line will expand Tonic Emballage's existing business in the same area.
