Another successful Metso board machine start-up at Dongguan Jianhui

The second board line delivery from Metso Paper and its joint venture company Valmet-Xian to Dongguan Jianhui Paper Co, Ltd was successfully started up on August 21, 2005, in Dongguan, P.R.C. The machine came on stream only one and half-hour after starting the tail threading. "Everything went according to our plans and time schedules", says Mr. <b>Chen Bo</b>, Chief Engineer of Jianhui Paper. "Co-operation during the whole project from sales to start-up between Jianhui and Metso Paper has been excellent", Mr. Chen Bo continues.

The board machine BM 2 is producing high-quality coated white lined chipboard (WLC) at an annual rate of over 300,000 tons per year. The BM 2 has a wire width of 4.95 m and a design speed of 700 m/min. The BM 2 has a five-layer wire section which one is equipped with a dilution-controlled headbox and a four station on machine coating section. The machine has also the first ValFlo headboxes, which is the latest addition to Metso Paper's cost-efficient Val-product range. Together with the BM1, Jianhui's capacity for high-quality WLC grades with basis weights ranging from 250 – 450 g/m² will be the largest in Guangdong.

Dongguan Jianhui Paper Co. Ltd. is a joint venture of Hongkong Jianhui International Co. Ltd., Dongguan Jianhua Paper Co. Ltd., and Sun Paper Co. Ltd. The company, established in 2002, operates its board mill in Dongguan in south China close to Guangzhou.

"We started small but are growing steadily. Our plan for the future is to reach a production capacity of one million tons and to be a top quality supplier of recycled-coated board in China. Our BM 1, which went on stream roughly a year ago, is also a single-supplier delivery from Metso Paper, Valmet-Xian and Metso Automation. BM 1 has been successful project and it has already exceeded its production targets. We have similar plans for BM 2," says Mr. <b>Li Zu Qiu</b>, Chairman of the Board of Jianhui Paper.
